Kenneth Barnett is a devoted lifelong resident of Springfield, MA, with deep roots in the community and a strong track record of public service. You may know his voice as the long running host of the gospel radio show The Promise on WTCC 90.7 FM. Or, you may recognize him from his regular participation in the annual Stone Soul Festival and Parade. Now he is running for City Council to bring experienced, accountable leadership to Ward 4—because he believes you deserve M.O.R.E.:

Kenneth has served Springfield in multiple capacities. He is the former Commissioner of the Springfield Civic Center and Symphony Hall, where he worked to enhance the city’s cultural and civic life. With over 25 years of experience as a corporate financial analyst, he brings fiscal discipline and accountability to everything he does.
Kenneth is also a former Co-Chair of Sector F Community Policing, where he collaborated with residents and law enforcement to promote safer neighborhoods. His work in both civic and community roles reflects a deep commitment to transparency, trust, and tangible results. As former President of the Bay Area Neighborhood Council, Kenneth Barnett was instrumental in securing a new community workspace that expanded resources and increased visibility for the council. Under his leadership, the council successfully coordinated efforts to ensure seniors at the Highland Senior Center, and other vulnerable residents, received the personal items and essential resources needed to withstand the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Whether improving public safety, advocating for job access, or ensuring our youth have meaningful educational pathways, Kenneth Barnett is ready to fight for a better future for every resident of Ward 4.
